399: How to Become a Content Creation Machine
Are you ready to discover how you can generate so many videos, blog posts, podcast episodes, guest podcasts, live streams, and more, so that your business will have as much leads and income as you'll ever need? If so, listen in to today's episode.
- Content doesn't always mean written posts or PDF's.
- Ask real questions from real people to discover pain points. Solve real problems. Use lists/steps (for the TLDR factor). Experiment with different structures (i.e. Seth Godin lists). Think about your initial struggles (relate) and your insights (how you solved that problem). More importantly, share the interactions you had with others to find those breakthroughs so that it isn't all about you. Seriously, write questions, answer them, then delete the question.
- Use templates whenever possible. For example, answer three questions. Article or video = 3 talking points. Podcast or blog post = 3x3.
- I've used walking + EverNote to crank out a ton of material. Change your surroundings and focus on that single writing task.
- Publish often. Realizing that blogging, vlogging, and podcasting is simply getting ideas out to test your material. You'll reuse & refine your best ideas/stories for a book later. Right now, you're seeing what material is popular so you can create more.
- Write often so that you can build that muscle. Wake up a little earlier and set aside time every day for some writing.
- Keep a content piggy bank of COMPLETED articles so you're not always scrambling for content. Get ahead of that calendar and fill it up.
Quotes:
“Content doesn't always mean written posts or PDFs. Content can be YouTube videos you upload, Facebook live streams you host, or an audio podcast.” – Robert Plank
“It's important to be a real human being out there in the internet world. It's important to get your ideas figured out, because the person you're branded as today probably won't be the same branding you have 5, 10, or 15 years from now.” – Robert Plank
“Ask and answer real questions from real people to discover pain points and solve real problems.” – Robert Plank
Takeaways:
04:40 Content creation isn't limited to written posts; it spans across videos, podcasts, live streams, and multiple digital platforms.
12:15 Solving real problems requires listening to actual questions people are asking in forums, groups, and communities.
18:30 Using a structured approach like the "three by three" method can break through writer's block and make content creation more systematic.
23:20 Walking and using mobile note-taking apps can unlock creative thinking and help capture spontaneous content ideas.
31:10 Building a "content piggy bank" of completed articles in advance prevents last-minute scrambling and maintains consistent content production.

398: Five Entrepreneurial Skills You Should Develop or Sharpen as a Work at Home Internet Marketer
Listen in today as we talk about the five entrepreneurial skills you need for a successful business:
- Selling (email marketing, sales letters, webinar pitches, podcast soft sells, swipe file, hot material)
- Content creation (writing, speaking, video, structure, step-by-step, reading a lot to distill down information)
- Basic website creation (WordPress, funnels, membership sites)
- Productivity (workflow, mindset, focus, motivation, chunking, systems thinking, delegating, troubleshooting equipment/traffic/software)
- Planning & Architecture (scaling, editing the raw materials, software design, course layout, dashboard)
Quotes:
“Market more than you create. No one's telling you to cut corners, take shortcuts, or make crap—but market more than you create.” – Robert Plank
“Always have a constant flow of information—books, podcasts, courses—but also distill that information down into just a handful of actionable items you can begin using right now. There's nothing worse than going to a conference or taking a course, writing 50 pages of notes, and then never looking at them again.” – Robert Plank
“The bad news is it's super competitive now. The good news is it's easy enough for anyone to do, so there's no excuse.” – Robert Plank
Takeaways:
02:29 Marketing your content matters more than creating it - aim to spend 80% of your time promoting and 20% creating.
12:07 Build a "swipe file" of interesting marketing phrases and ideas to spark creativity and improve your selling skills.
18:12 Develop a systematic approach to repetitive business tasks using clear checklists to increase productivity and consistency.
28:12 Learn basic troubleshooting skills to quickly solve problems and keep your business moving forward.
29:34 Always have a clear vision of what you want to build, even if you don't know exactly how to get there.

Quotes:
“This is like borrowing from the bank. You're forcing your body to find energy. It's not just caffeine giving you energy—it's going straight to your adrenal glands, triggering all your stress hormones, and saying, ‘Work, work right now,’ which is why your body gets more tired.” – Rhonda Liebig
“Our whole digestion is just like your thumbprint—the entire system is uniquely designed for you.” – Rhonda Liebig
“Be yourself and don't try to portray or fake anything—that's where everything starts. That's where your food choices come from, because you're beginning to listen to yourself.” – Rhonda Liebig
Takeaways:
04:29 Drinking a big glass of water first thing in the morning kickstarts your body's energy and metabolism.
10:46 Understanding your unique body's needs is more important than following generic health advice or trends.
12:26 Small, consistent lifestyle changes can dramatically improve your overall energy and health, rather than drastic diet shifts.
15:13 Self-criticism and negative self-talk are major barriers to personal growth and wellness, blocking your potential for positive change.

394: Postcard Marketing, Direct Mail, and Building Customer Relationships
Many people are looking to give away copies of a free book or even purchase a list, when they haven't properly contacted their customers. Or, they look into fancy (expensive) direct mail solutions that don't get results when they haven't yet taken the time to send some quick postcards or make some quick phone calls to buyers.
Discover today how you can use our WP Kunaki plugin to collect addresses of the buyers of your membership site (as well as free members!) and how I send hand-written thank you cards to customers for 75 cents each and 90 seconds each. You'll also hear about Double Agent Cards which we used to send brownies to our customers as well as personalized items.
Quotes:
“You should know your customers' names. You should at least have some recognition if someone has bought from you again and again.” – Robert Plank
“The name of the game here is to wake people back up and remind them that I exist.” – Robert Plank
“Don't let yourself get held back by thinking, ‘I need this whole system. I need to see who's bought five or ten products from me.’ Just get started.” – Robert Plank
Takeaways:
02:20 Personal touch in marketing beats complex strategies - handwritten postcards can reconnect with customers more effectively than elaborate campaigns.
08:10 Start small with marketing efforts - sending 4-5 postcards daily is better than planning massive, never-executed campaigns.
10:47 Multiple contact points build strong customer relationships - postcards, emails, phone calls, and social media interactions create lasting connections.
11:09 Simple communication trumps overthinking - don't get stuck on tracking links, paper thickness, or complicated systems.
17:49 Know your existing customers before chasing new leads - focus on re-engaging past buyers instead of purchasing expensive, untested contact lists.

We're talking today about how you too can create a podcast that cranks out content every single day, 5 episodes per week. How do you find the time? What tools do you use? How do you keep yourself from running out of content? We tackle all that and more in today's episode.
Quotes:
“If you rely on no system, you're almost guaranteed to fail. If you rely on being enthusiastic and excited every single day of the week, that's a recipe for failure too.” – Robert Plank
“Don't focus on making your podcast neat, tidy, and thorough with all your segments. You don't need any of that.” – Robert Plank
“The better you get at speaking extemporaneously, the more you'll understand how it's going.” – Robert Plank
Takeaways:
05:26 Creating a daily podcast requires a solid system and preparation, not just daily motivation.
11:53 Batch your podcast production tasks to save time and maintain consistent content flow.
20:48 Interview guests from different backgrounds to keep your podcast fresh and expand your content range.
